Travel Guide to Paris for Kids

While Paris might not come to mind as the most kid-friendly place, it's actually kind of one giant playground, with some pretty incredible parks. That, plus the ease of being able to grab a crepe from one of the million stands dotted across the city make it kid nirvana. While many tours are tailored towards adults, here are my favorite activities and tours that are incredible for kids and adults alike.

Tours

Where to Stay: Le Bristol Paris

SIZE: 190 ROOMS ROOMS STYLE: CLASSIC VIBE: SOPHISTICATED

Nestled in the fashionable 8th arrondissement near the Champs Elysées, Le Bristol exudes sophistication, even for its tiniest guests. It stands out as a top family hotel thanks to an exceptional kids' club created with Bonpoint. Children revel in the chalkboard walls and teepees while parents enjoy quiet time shopping or visiting the Louvre. The hotel even offers a tailored 55-minute kids' massage to help little ones unwind after play.

TIP: The family package rolls out the red carpet with a Hippolyte rabbit plush (named after the founder), cat-shaped cookies honoring the resident cat Socrate, a child's robe, and an activities book with Paris walking tours.

Where to Stay: Shangri-La Paris, Place du Trocadéro

SIZE: 100 ROOMS ROOMS STYLE: CLASSIC VIBE: SOPHISTICATED

One of the most family-centric brands, Shangri-La partners with Make-A-Wish on fun kids' initiatives. At their Paris hotel across from the Eiffel Tower, the mischievous Bamboo panda dotes on young guests. Upon arrival, kids receive a passport to collect stamps throughout the hotel. In-room, find Bamboo gifts galore - backpack, umbrella, coloring book, slippers, panda cookie and cuddly Bamboo toy companion. He even joins kids for panda chopstick dining.

Where to Stay: Four Seasons Hotel George V Paris

SIZE: 244 ROOMS ROOMS STYLE: CLASSIC VIBE: SOPHISTICATED

Leave it to Four Seasons to go above and beyond with their "Precious Little Moments" kids' experience. Book it for a fully customized room setup tailored by age, like designer Tartine et Chocolat crib linens for babies. Kids receive the hotel's Little George plush mascot and can indulge in an iconic afternoon tea with decadent hot chocolate.

TIP: Babysitting is on hand with 24-hour notice, and kids are also welcomed in the hotel’s elegant roster of restaurants.

Where to Stay: The Peninsula Paris, Arc de Triomphe

SIZE: 100 ROOMS ROOMS STYLE: CLASSIC VIBE: SOPHISTICATED

This historic Arc de Triomphe hotel pulls out all the stops to entertain children via the Peninsula Kids' Academy. Culinary kids revel in the Candy Wonderland kitchen experience; sports fans go behind-the-scenes at Paris Saint-Germain; cultured kids do Louvre treasure hunts and French lessons. All can make a splash in the expansive indoor pool and enjoy kid's menus at the restaurants.

TIP: Don't miss the Tartine et Chocolat Sunday brunch featuring crafts and storytelling for little ones.
